Veterans Lobby Day protests DADT

On May 11, 2010, veterans from all over the country will attempt to get their message across to Congress: Repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell.

A project of Servicemembers United and the Human Rights Campaign, the National Veterans Lobby Day gathering will take place immediately before the National Defense Authorization Act – the bill that should contain DADT repeal language – is drafted on Capitol Hill (full schedule).

'Gallery Night' exhibit benefits One Iowa

Artist and longtime Iowa resident Jamie Bowers will have a show Friday, April 9, as part of Valley Junction's "Gallery Night".

Jamie created a special piece included in the show based on One Iowa's Blue Dot logo, and he plans to donate the proceeds from the piece's sale to One Iowa.
